What is the Slides tool?

A PowerPoint editor that runs entirely in your browser, fully offline. Open an existing .pptx, edit it visually — rich text with bullets and mixed formatting, images, shapes, tables, themes and connector arrows — then save it back as an editable .pptx or a PDF. You can also start from a blank deck and build a presentation from scratch. Nothing is uploaded: the file is unpacked, edited and rebuilt on your device. Features the editor cannot hold — animations, SmartArt, embedded charts — are listed in a clear notice when a file is opened, and saving always writes a clean rebuilt file.

How to use Slides

  1. Open a .pptx or start blank — Press Open on the Home ribbon to load an existing PowerPoint file — slides, text with its formatting, images, shapes, tables, backgrounds, theme colours and speaker notes are all read in. Or just start adding slides to a blank deck.
  2. Edit text richly — Double-click any text box to edit it in place. Select words and apply bold, italic, underline, colour, size or font to just that selection; add bullet or numbered lists, change line spacing and indent levels.
  3. Add blocks and tables — Insert text boxes, images, shapes (rectangles, ellipses, triangles, arrows, stars and more) and tables. Drag to move, drag the corner to resize; click a table cell and Tab between cells while typing.
  4. Style and connect — Pick a theme — an opened file contributes its own theme colours as swatches — set slide backgrounds, rotate blocks, and draw connector arrows between blocks from their connection dots.
  5. Present and save — Press Present to show the deck fullscreen, then save your work as an editable .pptx (opens in PowerPoint, Keynote, LibreOffice and Google Slides) or export a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Does my presentation get uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is unpacked, edited and rebuilt entirely in your browser, and it works offline — nothing is sent to a server.

Can it open files made in Microsoft PowerPoint?

Yes. It reads standard .pptx files: slide sizes (16:9 and 4:3), text with per-run formatting, bullets and numbering, images, shapes, tables with merged cells, solid backgrounds, theme colours and fonts, and speaker notes.

What happens to animations, SmartArt and embedded charts?

They can't be edited client-side, so they are dropped — a notice lists exactly what was removed when the file opens. Everything the editor can hold stays editable, and saving writes a clean rebuilt .pptx.

Will the saved .pptx be editable in PowerPoint?

Yes. Saving produces a standard, editable .pptx — text stays text with its formatting, tables stay tables, and speaker notes are carried over.

Can I format just part of a text box?

Yes. Double-click the box, select the words, and use the Format panel to make just that selection bold, italic, underlined, a different colour, size or font — mixed formatting in one box, like PowerPoint.
